As a result, you must be prepared for many tricky clues which make you stumped. Once again, I’m here to help you with some clues that are challenging. In fact, there is a question in the grid which can be considered as the hardest one and at the same time, the helpful one. Without any hesitation, let’s get to the NYT Crossword of Jan 17!

For me, section 8-Down is the star of the show. A 15-character answer for this weird question: Longest number writable in standard Roman numerals. I know you will be bored with mathematical calculation so I will give you the answer: MMMDCCCLXXXVIII. It equals 3888 in plain number.

Do not worry about the mathematical calculation; I have done the work for you. This equals 3888. Here is the breakdown:

MMM = 3,000

DCCC = 800 (500 + 100 + 100 + 100)

LXXX = 80 (50 + 10 + 10 + 10)

VIII = 8 (5 + 1 + 1 + 1)

Do the math and witness the magic! It is a literal wall of letters but it provides a huge amount of help for the across clues.

Sections 54-Across and 39-Down interact with each other in the most pleasant way. 54A’s question is: With 39-Down, pretentiously creative. Its answer is ARTSY. The riddle for 39D is amazing: see 54-Across. That’s it. In order to answer this question, let’s take a look at 39A: Artificially unsophisticated. The answer is FAUXNAIF.

Ok, with F letter from 39A and Artsy from 54A, you now have the answer for 39D: FARTSY. Without any doubt, it is one of the trickiest clues of NYT Crossword Jan 17.

Besides hard questions, there are some fun clues in the grid which may put a smile on your face. See section 53-Across: Where someone’s height may be stretched? It is definitely not about Mars, so where can we be taller? Nice, in our dreams. Oh, I almost forgot, we can lie about our height in the dating apps. Actually, the answer for 53A is TINDERBIO (Tinder bio). Please, be honest with your date and write your bio with total honesty; you are complete in your current form.

Did that Roman numeral at 8-Down make you want to close your device, or did it help you crack the code? And did you catch the ARTSY-FARTSY connection right away? Let us know your finish times or your favorite clue in the comments!

If you need the answers for daily crossword puzzles like the NYT Crossword or the NYT Mini, make sure to check Daze Puzzle every day to find the solutions you need in record time.

OK, it is Saturday and you should face the most difficult version of NYT Crossword.
