WordBrain Event: The Swipe Mechanic

MAG Interactive, the Swedish studio behind the game, launched WordBrain in 2015. It’s since crossed 40 million downloads and topped App Store word-game charts in 118 countries, per the developer’s own numbers.

The mechanic hasn’t moved much since then: swipe across connected letters, horizontally, vertically or diagonally, to spell out a word. Once a tile’s been used it disappears while the rest of the board settles into place.

Events Structure: How Are They Different?

Events use that same system but structure it differently than the main game does.

They may be divided into different sections with an Easy Level part.

Finish an event and you’ll usually walk away with hints or boosters that carry over into the regular game, which is why players who’ve already cleared every numbered level still tend to check back whenever a new one lands.
